Job Role: Network Administrative Manager/Lead ( NAM )

Grade alignment: Asst. Director- Snr. Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and analyses bank-wide networks
  • Ensures operational service on the LAN and WAN network
  • Monitors systems performance and ensures adequate time and throughput to users
  • Ensures that the network/communication infrastructure are adequately protected against disasters and also equipping for disasters and implements recovery procedures
  • Ensures that the bank’s telecommunication and data communications needs are met
  • Manages Telecommunication and Network projects and ensures compliance with project specification and contract documents
  • Ensures that all members of the team know and understand the goal of a project
  • Leads team in issues and problems resolution
  • Constantly evaluates new and emerging technologies so as to innovate network solutions in the context of the Bank’s needs.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES REQUIRED
Core Skills

  • Working knowledge of networking – LAN and WAN
  • In-depth knowledge of communications protocols and standards
  • Adequate knowledge of interoperability amongst various network components
  • Adequate knowledge of network security tools
  • Knowledge of cabling schemes
  • Knowledge of satellite and terrestrial communication
  • Working knowledge of network operating systems such as
  • Windows NT, 2000/2003 and Unix Solaris, Linux
  • Adequate knowledge of telephone systems such as PABX for voice services
  • Adequate knowledge of architecture environment>

Generic Skills

  • Adequate knowledge of banking especially central banking
  • Good written and oral communication ability
  • Sound administrative and managerial ability
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Action planning, Motivating, Analytical mind and strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to lead project team in a highly dynamic environment and work under intense pressure
  • Adequate knowledge of software/package implementation of enterprise systems


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • First degree or HND in Computer Science and computer related disciplines (computer engineering, Computer Economics, Computer with Mathematics/Economics, MIS & Electrical/ Electronics. Post Graduate Degree in management is an added advantage.
  • CISCO or Novell or MSCE Certification is an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience, 4 of which must have been spent performing IT Network/ Security Management functions.
