JOB ROLE: SECURITY ANALYST/ADMINISTRATOR (SAA)

Grade alignment: Snr. Manager- Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews employee violations of computer security procedures as recorded by the computer and reports violations to appropriate authority
  • Regulates access to computer data files, monitors data file use and updates computer security files
  • Maintains and monitors log-on identification across all technology platforms
  • Identify potential areas where existing security may require changes
  • Provides data security services such as analysing risks and putting in controls to protect against unauthorised access to business data, changes to data, etc
  • Participates in the research and development of IT security policy and procedures based on industry standards and tailored to CBN’s needs and implements new technologies to enhance the information security mechanisms and safeguards
  • Ensures the administration of computer systems’ security requirements and monitors security access to the entire complex computing/net work environment
  • Actively participates in the ongoing technical development of systems’ security administration needs and improvement
  • Liaises with other members of staff in the Information Technology Department to plan data security for new and modified software
  • Performs security audits and improves on areas that may need upgrades/updates.
  • Assists in developing and implementing security training and awareness programs to educate CBN staff about the Bank’s information security solutions and their requirements
  • Installs, updates and monitors anti-virus software on all Servers and PCs.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES REQUIRED

Core Skills

  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of established computer-industry security procedures for multiple computer platforms
  • In-depth experience with security issues on multiple operating systems platforms such as UNIX , Windows 2000/2003, Sun Solaris
  • In-depth knowledge of PKI, firewalls, Internet security, Token Ring etc
  • Proficiency with Enterprise Management and security tools
  • Working knowledge of networking – LAN / WAN, Satellite and Terrestrial communication technology
  • Working knowledge of communications and security standards and protocols
  • Knowledge of the enterprise application systems, database tools, etc
  • Quality control, Budget and cost management and Contract management

Generic Skills

  • A fair knowledge of banking especially central banking
  • Good written and oral communication ability
  • Action planning, Motivating, Analytical mind and strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment and work under intense pressure.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • First degree or HND in Computer Science and computer related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics, Computer with Mathematics, MIS & Electrical/ Electronics.
  • Post Graduate Degree in management is an added advantage. Possession of a certification in IT Security/Audit e.g. CISA or CISSP CISM will be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience, at least 3 of which must have been spent performing IT Security/ Audit management function
