JOB ROLE: SENIOR APPLICATION ANALYST (SAP)

Grade alignment: Snr. Manager- Manager

• Designs high-level designs of Systems
• Develops prototypes (to improve envisioning and communication) and proof-of-concept systems (to test technology) to validate potential solutions
• Mitigates development risks early in the development process
• Performs coding according to the Functional Specification in order to solve the business problem
• Provides low level product and feature design
• Actively participates in program unit testing, integration and system testing
• Develops program documentation
• Provides support for the maintenance of "live" systems
• Investigates Users’ observations on a production system
• Provides support services for Users of the Bank’s application systems
• Designs, codes tests, and documents Web application software
• Participates in the customisation of application packages.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES REQUIRED

Core Skills

• In-dept knowledge of programming languages
• In-dept knowledge of RDBMS Developer tools including Oracle Developer tools
• Adequate knowledge of HTML, coding with advanced languages and techniques such as XML, JavaScript, ASP, VBScript, etc
• Knowledge of analytical tools such as CASE TOOL, etc
• Familiar with Server operating systems, and other server side technologies like Cold Fusion or Real Media Server
• Adequate knowledge of office automation software such as Microsoft office, etc
• Knowledge of and experience in major operating systems such as MS Windows 2000/2003, Unix Solaris, Linux etc
• Adequate knowledge of package implementation of integrated systems
• Adequate knowledge of changing business demands
  

Generic Skills

• A fair knowledge of banking especially central banking
• Good written and oral communication ability
• Action planning, Motivating, Analytical mind and strong problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment and work under intense pressure.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• First degree or HND in Computer Science and computer related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics, Computer with Mathematics, MIS & Electrical/ Electronics.
• Post Graduate Degree in management is an added advantage.
• Membership of professional management or information systems bodies is required e.g. NIM, NCS, CPN,

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 6 years Application Development/Management experience, 3 years of which must have been spent performing related function on a core banking software.
