Central Bank of Nigeria Currency Museum

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Currency Museum tells the story of CBN from its inception in 1959 to its current role today. Positioned at the centre of the Nigeria's financial system, the Bank is committed to promoting and maintaining financial stability as its contribution to a healthy economy. The Bank sets interest rates to control inflation, issues legal tender currencies and works to maintain a stable financial system. The historical displays include material drawn from the Bank's own collections of artifacts, documents, paintings, banknotes, coins and photographs, and those sourced from the National Commission for Museums & Monuments.
